Breathtaking Milford Sound: Flight & Cruise from Queenstown

What a great day, one of the most stunningly beautiful flights and cruise I have ever done I know there are others who offer this service but the team went above and beyond with their communication, FYI weather is fickle, over a few days and regular checking in we were given the green light to go, best day

A wonderful tour, Emma our pilot was fabulous, great with information during the day and our cruise and lunch were great, overall a well worth every cent tour and would recommend it to all.

Best way to see Milford Sounds and the views on the way from the sky! This is definitely the way to go instead of riding in a bus all day.

The views were absolutely breathtaking. At first, I thought the flights might not be necessary, or only to save travel time, but they turned out to be the best way to truly appreciate the stunning landscape – braided rivers, sparkling lakes, and the endless expanse of snow-capped mountains. Milford Sound was equally spectacular, and we had an unforgettable time there. A truly remarkable and memorable experience.

Highly recommend this tour! Not only because a 12-hr day with a long bus ride isn't appealing, but you get the see the landscape so much better by flying. The weather was starting to be disagreeable the day we traveled, but the pilots made sure everyone felt safe flying. Pictures don't do the fjords justice. It is really beautiful and well-worth the trip.

In my opinion this is the best bang for your buck to sightsee Milford sound, the flight is 35-40 minutes each way plus you get a cruise with food included. Other flights are maybe 30 minutes total from some sightseeing places without a cruise. The pilots here were very friendly and safe and knowledgeable so even if weather deteriorates or you hit turbulence I felt very safe. The only downside is weather is Milford sound is unpredictable so book this early on in your trip that way if you have to cancel you have other days to reschedule because you do NOT want to miss out on this. Can’t recommend them enough, thank you pilot Emma for an awesome time!

This is definitely a bucket list adventure. Absolutely out of this world views from the plane. An amazing pilot. Cannot speak highly enough of this. We had wonderful weather for our cruise. Lovely lunch included too. So worth the money.

Our flight to and cruise around Milford Sound was the highlight of our New Zealand trip. We couldn't have picked a better company to book with. The winter weather wasn't being very cooperative, and we had to move our flight to a day later. During this time of uncertainty however, we kept getting updates about the flight and cruise from Tegan and Carly of Air Milford, which was very reassuring. When the wind and rain let up enough to let our flight and cruise to push through, we were blessed with wonderful (but really cold!) weather. Our pilot was the CEO of Air Milford, Hank Sproull. It was a magnificent flight over snow capped mountains and I took many wonderful photographs. We also experienced one of the smoothest take-offs and landings of our lives; Hank is a really skilled pilot, and I imagine the rest of his crew are as well. Extra bonus: you take different flight paths to and from Milford Sound, so you see new things each flight. The cruise around Milford Sound was great as well...you really can't go wrong when the sights are so awesome. And we were blessed on our way back to the airport, when a Kea parrot just walked nonchalantly across our path. That was an extra treat for a wildlife fan like myself. On the whole, I would recommend this experience and this company without reservation. Yes, it is more expensive than taking a bus. But the flight, and the interaction with the great people at Air Milford, will save time and give you great views that make the extra cost more than worth it.
